Product Designer

About the position

Physical and financial systems are under growing pressure from a changing planet. Neural Earth fuses geospatial intelligence and AI to help organizations understand how environmental, social, and economic factors intersect across space and time. By transforming massive geospatial datasets into clear, actionable insight, Neural Earth enables decision-makers to anticipate risk, strengthen resilience, and plan with confidence, from individual properties to global portfolios.

We are looking for a Product Designer who can turn complex data and AI-driven insights into intuitive and elegant experiences. You will help shape the design language across Risk and Studio, from data visualization to conversational workflows with Gaia, our AI assistant. Your work will connect technical depth with human clarity, crafting interfaces that make geospatial and climate intelligence easy to explore, understand, and act on.

This is a hands-on role that blends systems thinking, interaction design, and storytelling. You will collaborate closely with our product, data, and engineering teams to prototype new ways users can layer data, run scenarios, and visualize risk, helping define the future of spatial intelligence design.

Responsibilities

  • Design for clarity in complex workflows: Create clean, intuitive interfaces that help users interact with risk scores, hazard models, and property data. Focus on clarity, responsiveness, and usability for non-technical users.
  • User research & workflow mapping: Interview underwriters, brokers, and property managers to understand how they work with data, and what slows them down. Translate insights into user flows and feature priorities.
  • Prototyping & iteration: Develop interactive prototypes and high-fidelity designs in Figma that bring product concepts to life. Test and iterate based on user feedback and product goals.
  • Consistent UI across tools: Help build and maintain a modular design system that works across Neural Earth’s platform, including maps, tables, filters, upload tools, and dashboards.
  • Collaborate with engineering: Work closely with developers and PMs to ensure designs are feasible, well-implemented, and aligned with platform capabilities. Participate in sprint planning and QA.

Qualification

  • Experience with data-driven products: 3+ years in UX/UI or product design, ideally with experience in platforms that surface analytics, dashboards, or visualizations.
  • Excellent skills in Figma and managing design systems and component libraries.
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS.
  • Design thinking & problem solving: Comfortable navigating ambiguity, simplifying complexity, and advocating for the user throughout the design process.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Able to present design rationale to cross-functional teams and adapt based on feedback from engineering, product, and users.

Preffered

  • Experience designing for mapping, GIS, or data visualization platforms.
  • Familiarity with accessibility and responsive design best practices.
  • Comfort working in Agile environments and cross-functional teams.
  • Passion for turning technical capabilities - like AI-powered scores or hazard models - into everyday tools people enjoy using.
